The heat of the summer months may have left you with some end-of-summer skin problems that are not very attractive.
Coming up to autumn, it's time to re-check your beauty routine and prepare your skin for the cooler weather. Here are some helpsful on combatting common problems:
Cracked lips - start by gently wiping a clean face cloth soaked in warm water over your lips each night. This will gently exfoliate away the dried skin. Do be gentle though, you don't want sore lips. Last thing at night be sure to slather your lips with vaseline or a healing lip balm. The next morning, apply a slick of lip balm again before applying a colored lip gloss. Avoid lipstick until your lips are completely healed.
Freckles - An increase in your skin's melanin caused by summer skin can bring out your freckles. If you want to continue blending them into your skin, mix a little of your facial fake tanning cream into your moisturizer and smooth it on each morning. A lightly tanned face will make your freckles less noticeable. Alternatively, purchase a moisturizer specially designed to fade away freckes and other skin discolorations. Of course, there is another option - learn to love your freckles!
Oily T-zone - warm sun and perspiration can make your forehead, nose and chin areas shiner than usual. And this may can be made even more noticeable if you are using the summer's foundations that leave a sheen on your face. Switch to a more matt product, there are many excellent liquid foundations that are mattifying without being heavy. Pat only a little loose powder in your oily areas for a shine-free day.
Visible Pores - large pores are due to the heat. Your facial pores will not be so noticeable during the cooler months but you need to make sure that they don't become blocked with grease and impurities. When you suffer from spots or not, it's a good idea to use a facial wash each evening. Only thoroughly clean skin will mean large pores won't lead to breakouts. Choose a facial wash with gentle exfoliating granules. In as little as 3 days you can begin to see a difference in skin that is prone to small blackheads as a result of clogged, open pores.
