Eyebrows - the Secret to Great-Looking Eyes
The secret to great looking eyes is eyebrows. Often forgotten, beautifully curved, natural-looking eyebrows
frame the eye and draw attention to the most important feature of your face.
Caring for your eyebrows -
that means regular, correct plucking of stray hairs, and the proper use of eyebrow makeup - will make a huge
difference to the way you look, we promise.
If your eyebrows have a life of their own and you are afraid
where to start, the best recommendation is to pay a visit to your local beauty therapist.
Start with a
professional eyebrow treatment. Your eyebrows can be plucked properly and quite painlessly into a perfect shape
to suit your face. And one that leaves your brows looking natural and manageable.
Nothing should be so
complicated that you can't do home beauty maintainance yourself. Ask your beautician to show you how.
Basic
rules include:
- Always pluck from the bottom of your eyebrow, never the top.
- Find your perfect
eyebrow line by holding a pencil upright against the side of your nose and the inner corner of your eye. Your eyebrow
should not extend towards the center of your face beyond this point.
- Likewise, hold a pencil diagonally
against your nostril out towards the corner of your eye. The end of your eyebrow should not extend beyond this point
towards your hairline.
- Eyebrows should be thicker on the inner edge and center, gradually tapering out in a
slightly thinner line towards the outer edge.
- Keep your eyebrow pencils in the fridge. They will sharpen to a
precise point ideal for lightly filling in gaps in your eyebrow.
- Be sure your eyebrow pencil is as close to
your natural hair color as possible.
- Use an eyebrow brush to comb your eyebrows neatly into place after using
the pencil.
- A tiny, tiny, slick of vaseline combed through your eyebrow will keep them in place and
add a healthy sheen.
- Check your eyebrows weekly for stray hairs.
