How to Treat and then Ignore your Blackheads
Not always noticeable, but under close examination of the bright bathroom light and a magnifying mirror
(the sort we love to hate), they are there, lurking in the t-zone. Blackheads. Some days worse than others, some seasons worse than
others.
By the time we hit our late thirties, we seem to have exercised some kind of basic control over blackheads.
It seems banishing them for good is a losing battle, so constant control is a better option, together with clever
makeup and to the outside world blackheads and a visible t-zone suddenly seem to vanish.
Most of us suffer with blackheads around the chin, nose and forehead where sebaceous glands are very active. The tricks is keep them from becoming inflamed or in contact with bacteria that can lead to acne.
Here are some tried and tested tips. The do's and don'ts after years of suffering. The way to be able to live with blackheads, but hardly remember they are there:-
- The access oil and dead skin cells that causes the blackhead needs to be kept at bay by a regular (morning and night) skin slough with a cleanser designed for troublesome skin. One that contains exfoliation beads. Use it religiously, and gently.

Every other day, add a skin peeling scrub to your routine and gently use on the blackheads in the evening. Buy a gentle sort made for sensitive skins, and if possible one from the same product range as your cleanser so the two products compliment each other.

Look out for products that contain Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) as these will gently exfoliate skin to prevent cells from building up and clogging pores.

Once your skin is spotlessly clean and your hands too, place a clean, warm washcloth over your face for a few minutes to encourage your skin pores to open. Then, using a blackhead extractor - a metal instrument with a small round opening on the end - press the end with the opening against your skin at the site of the blackhead to remove them individually. Go easy, if the blackhead doesn't pop out with gentle pressing, then stop, and try again in a few days.

Rinse your face afterwards to close the pores again. Don't, no matter what, try squeezing with your fingers. Think bacteria and scarring and that's enough to put you off.

Use a fluid foundation applied with a clean makeup sponge to disguise blackheads. Apply a concealer on top if necessary and brush with loose powder. Carry a powder compact arrange during the day for quick touchups to help keep blackheads hidden and absorb shine on these areas.

At the end of the day, follow a religious beauty routine again. Eventually, you will be able to see the improvement and notice that the number of blackheads you have - even if they don't disappear completely - will drastically reduce.
