The Power of Positive Thinking

Do you believe the power of the mind can get us to where we want to be in life?

Thinking good thoughts can make a huge difference in your life. Those of us who are firm believers in positive thinking work on thinking good thoughts and visualising where we want to be in one month, two years, or ten years.

Critics always sneer that if it was that easy everyone would have a million dollars, a big house and the fastest car. Perhaps they have a point. But, more importantly - they miss the main point. It is not easy.

Positive thinking is not about visualising possessions and a bottomless pot of gold under the bed.

And again, to emphasise, it's not easy.

So how does it work? And how do we help our power of mind? Well, it is a matter of not being negative. Avoid getting caught in negative-spirals that take meaningless events and interpret them as signs of doom. It may sound dramatic, but there is no reason to interpret everything in the worst possible way.

Instead think good thoughts and be positive. Try to see at least some good in everything and everyone.

Positive thinking does wonderful things for you. And in more ways than one.

First of all, thinking about exactly where you want to be will ensure your work and energy is focused on getting you there. You could argue that this is rather a bi-product than than an actual result of positive thinking. Nevertheless, I feel it is a positive action.

The second advantage is more difficult to describe. You most likely have heard of mental training in sports. There are athletes that, for example, have never jumped higher than 2.29 meters. There is just no way. On lower heights they sail way over heights like 2.26 and 2.28. But when they are facing 2.30 they underperform.

It is ascribed to a mental block. Now, the trainer changes the markings so that 2,28 actually is 2.30. But he does not tell the athlete. And the athlete jumps 2.30 thinking it is merely 2.28. Is it true? Yes, it can be done.

More importantly the point is that if we set a limit in our mind, that thought becomes reality and limits us in real life.

And using positive thinking can tear down those invisible walls and that glass ceiling.

So visualise where you want to be and start thinking good thoughts. Start today your positive thinking. If nothing else, you will be happier for it.
